Fishing is new from the ground up: fish anywhere along the water, more than 100 species, rods that evolve, collection books and legendary fish. Sleeping Dragon Cape is gone; in its place, Void Cracks with six bosses and a new 20-room dungeon, Starless Abyss. All quests now live in one window and phones get a home screen app. Plus a long list of fixes.
Important note for phone players
With this update, Swordwound no longer runs in a phone browser. On your phone you add the game to your Home Screen and play it from there as an app. It takes a minute and needs no app store. A step-by-step guide for iPhone and Android will be posted on Discord when the update is live. Tablets and computers keep playing in the browser as before. iPad players who want the full-screen feel can follow the same steps and add the game to their Home Screen too.
Fishing
New Fish anywhere along the water
No more fixed fishing spots. Stand at the edge of any water with a rod and cast. Fresh water, salt water, sandy shallows, magma water and void water hold different fish. Rivers, lakes, ponds, seas, streams and waterfalls each have their own too.
Fishing starts at fishing level 1 and goes to 50. It levels up on its own as you fish. No licence, no exam.

Peaceful Valley. Any shore will do. The reel starts the moment a fish bites.
Map | Fishing level |
|---|---|
Peaceful Valley | 1 |
Frenzied Plains | 10 |
Thirsting Desert | 20 |
Ashen Realm | 30 |
Void Cracks | 40 |
Casting and reeling
- Hold Space or the fishing button to charge your cast, then let go. Land in the Perfect band and your Luck goes up for that catch.
- Reeling is a small game: in Ring, press when the rings meet; in Circles, hit the targets in order and follow the long ones.
- Good and Perfect hits both count. Miss too many and the fish is gone. A flawless phase gives you a bonus fish.
- You see your rod, line and bobber in the water. Casting, bites and the catch have their own sounds.
- Catch cards above the EXP bar show what you pulled out. Catches also show in Info chat.
- If your bag is full, the fish comes by mail.

Reeling one in over the magma in Ashen Realm.

Casting: hold, then let go at the top of the bar.

Circles: click each circle as its ring closes.

Ring: click the centre the moment the ring touches it.

The catch card: name, weight, length and what the fisherman pays.
Rarity, size and your three fishing stats
Fish come in six rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Mythic and Legendary. Each fish also has a size: Normal, Large, Giant or Monster, with its own weight and length. The item card shows what that exact fish sells for.

Rarity is the border colour. Size is on the card.
Stat | What it does |
|---|---|
Luck | Rarer fish bite more often. |
Lure | Fish bite sooner. |
Power | Reeling forgives more mistakes. Auto fishing catches more. |

Your rod's Luck, Lure and Power. Baits and fish dishes add more.
- The water card next to the minimap lists the local fish and the stats they want. A stat turns green when you have enough. Click a fish to open its Encyclopedia page.
- A Mythic catch is announced to the whole server. A Legendary catch is announced too and gives everyone Blessing of the Gods: +25% fishing Luck for 30 minutes.
- Fish runs move to another map every 30 minutes. You get a warning 90 seconds before.

The water card under the minimap. Green means you have enough.
Rods: craft the first, evolve the rest
Craft a Rookie Fishing Rod at a
Crafting Bench: crafting level 1, 6 Oak Logs, 6 Wood Scrap and 5,000 gold. Or buy one from any fisherman for 200,000 gold. Every rod after that comes from evolving the one before.

Rods go in their own slot in the bag, not the weapon slot.
A rod upgrades from +0 to +20 with gold only and it never breaks. At +20 you evolve it with gold and completed collection books. The new rod starts at +0 but keeps the stats of your fully upgraded old one.

Upgrading a rod at the fisherman. Gold only. A failed try never breaks the rod.

Fisherman Riza, Lale the Bait Maker and Captain Demir are in Peaceful Valley. Every other fishing map has its own fisherman. They buy fish, sell collection books and upgrade or evolve your rod.

Sell Mode: click a fish in your bag, or sell them all at once.
Collection books
Each map has a Small, a Medium and a Large book. Buy the empty book and fill it: ten local species plus local fish materials. Any size and any rarity counts. Medium needs twice what Small needs. Large needs five times, plus the map's legendary fish.
A completed book can be traded, sold at the Trading Post, or used up to evolve a rod.

Filling the Peaceful Valley Small book. Any catch of that species counts.
Map | Small | Medium | Large |
|---|---|---|---|
Peaceful Valley | 142,000 | 499,000 | 1,990,000 |
Frenzied Plains | 305,000 | 1,070,000 | 4,270,000 |

Auto fishing
- New The Auto-Hunt window now has auto fishing, with rules for what to keep and what to open.
A Fishing Pass unlocks auto fishing for that character for good. Every player gets one by mail.

Auto fishing lives in the Auto-Hunt window.
New Legendary fish
Every fishing map has one legendary fish and it can bite anywhere on that map. Sell it to a fisherman for the gold on its card, or open it for materials. Bigger fish sell for more.

Fixes

- Fix Many monsters in Thirsting Desert and Ashen Realm froze mid-animation while they kept hitting you.
