There is a lot of ground to cover

Every region has its own enemies, its own materials and its own risk. The further out you go the better the loot, and the longer the walk back.

Peaceful Valley
AI enhanced Screenshot of level 1

Peaceful Valley

Where you pick up your first sword. Pig forest, bison pasture, snake meadow, all a few minutes apart, and none of them put you down in one hit. The first log and the first stone you carry back to your island come from here.

Level 1 - 24Difficulty Easy

Frenzied Plains

The open ground past the valley. Cover thins out, and what lives here does not come at you one at a time. The first place you find yourself asking whether your gear is good enough.

Level 25 - 39Difficulty Medium

Thirsting Desert

Sand that burns by day and freezes by night. Sight lines are long and shade is nowhere: you see what is coming from far off, and it sees you. This is where you start planning a trip instead of taking one.

Level 40 - 54Difficulty Hard

Ashen Realm

Basalt and ash. Something burned here once and never quite went out. The ground is warm, the air is heavy, and what comes out of it is the first loot other players will fight you for.

Level 55 - 69Difficulty Hard

Sleeping Dragon Cape

A green headland reaching into the sea. The name is not decoration: one look at the shape in the rocks and you understand. People who come here alone tend not to come here alone twice.

Level 70 - 84Difficulty Hard

Dawnmist Forest

The mist never lifts, not even at dawn. Ten paces into the trees you cannot see the eleventh, and you know something is there before you see it. Some of the best materials in the game are in here, and so is the easiest place to get lost.

Level 85 - 94Difficulty Hard

Blackened Bay

The end of the chain. Dark water, dead ground, and a long way back. Nothing that comes out of here was taken alone, and neither was the best gear on the server.

Warrior

First into the crowd and last out of it. Heavy armour and a wide swing pull the pack onto him and give the group behind room to breathe. The easiest class to learn and the most satisfying to get good at.

Gather, carry, build

Swordwound fits in one sentence: gather out there, carry it to your island, build the island up, go further out. Everything below hangs off that loop.

Content: your island

Your Own Island

This is the heart of it. Every log, every stone, every piece of loot you pick up out there goes back to your island. The bigger it gets the further you can go, and the further you go the more there is to build with. Build it, widen it, hold it.

Content: mobs

Mobs

From wolf packs to desert serpents, every region has its own. One at a time is easy; a pack of them teaches you something. What they drop decides what you build next.

Content: bosses

Bosses

They spawn on a clock and the whole server hears about it. Not whoever gets there first, whoever is still standing. The best gear in the game starts with what they drop.

Content: meteorites

Meteorites

Ancient stones fall all over the world and pull swarms towards wherever they land. Breaking one takes time; holding it takes a crew. What comes out is the most valuable material in the game.

Content: mounts

Mounts

The world is too wide to cross on foot. You feed your mount, grow it and armour it; the faster it is the more trips you make, and every trip is more material.

Content: clans

Clans

A shared vault, shared island buildings, and clan wars. Whatever will not go down alone goes down with a clan, and that is how ground changes hands.

Content: PvP

PvP

Anywhere out in the world, another player can decide if you are worth the trouble. Win and their bag is yours; lose and you drop what you carry, never what you wear.

Content: dungeons

Dungeons

The door opens for a group, and the inside is a little different every time. The deeper the floor the bigger the reward and the smaller the odds of walking back out. Where you stop is your call.

Content: professions

Professions

Smith, miner, cook, alchemist, fisher. What you make matters as much as what you gather: some of the best gear in the game comes from another player, not a shop.
